Sub-Pixel Offset Motion Kernels
One thing that frustrates Photoshop power-users is
the inability to operate on a sub-pixel level of accuracy (for example,
Adobe After Effects can do sub-pixel operations). When it comes
to moving pixels around with the Move tool or the Offset filter,
it's impossible to move image data in smaller increments of one
pixel...until now.
These sub-pixel offset filters, or custom motion kernels,
were created using the Custom filter....they work by shifting brightness
values to fool the eye into perceiving movement. When you have a
selection active, Choose the Filter>Other>Custom, hit the
Load button in the dialog, and choose one of these filters. Clever
and amazing!
