"Channels and Masking [Part Two] " Video Released

(Interactive Digital Intelligence Group) today announced the release of a new video in its Photoshop Inside & Out learning series, Channels and Masking [Part Two]. Channels are at the heart of most advanced image processing tasks in Photoshop, and Photoshop Master David Biedny has spent years learning how to make them yield their secrets. The tape continues the discussion of the incredible power of Photoshop's channel processing and image modes, including details of the issues involved with making complex selections, creating and editing alpha channels, and more. Practical examples of using channel information for deriving masks are explored in-depth, and detailed techniques for enhancing alpha channels (such as interactive choking and spreading) are demonstrated. The video teaches how to put these Photoshop techniques to work in a professional, real-world production environment. Availability is immediate, with a retail price of US $59.95. About the Host

Host David Biedny is a longtime Photoshop expert, instructor, and co-author of several bestselling books on Photoshop, including the very first book ever written on Photoshop, "The Official Adobe Photoshop Handbook" (Bantam), "Adobe Photoshop: A Visual Guide" (Addison-Wesley), and with Bert Monroy and Nathan Moody, one of the most advanced books currently on the market, the critically- acclaimed "Photoshop Channel Chops" (New Riders Publishing). Biedny is an Adobe Certified Expert on Photoshop.

David Biedny is a longtime educator for some of the leading educational institutions in the U.S., and is considered to be an original innovator in the realm of computer graphics and multimedia. He has written hundreds of articles, columns and reviews for a wide range of technology publications, including MacWorld, MacUser (Biedny was a Founding Editor), New Media, Windows Sources and ID, among many others.
